Hi When I first saw and endo I was told to take the very best minerals and vitamins, they do vary so it requires careful study of the ingredients. in as well extra zinc often helps with repeated infections, Zinc is safe and often the body lacking in it.
Best wishes,
Jackie

...maybe not enough vitamin C in an all in one. Always difficult to increase the dose of an all-in-one as you may then overdose on something else. Certainly won't be enough VitD...and so on. VitD will certainly help with your immunity and colds as well as a host of other things. Best to read up on the VITD on this forum - Click onto ' See more tags ' at the right of this page and off you go ....I know even more reading !

Nutrition is very important but I don't think a multi-vitamin would give you the amount necessary. This is a link re Nutrition and the explanations

Sorry to be negative shezz but many of the Holland and Barratt vitamins contain soya which is not good for thyroid health, best to check. I also agree with above that it is best to source your vitamins from a company that makes them purer such as Natures Own for example but there are others. It is a learning road and there is much information if you google.

Best wishes

As has been said, an all in one vitamin will not be enough for your needs. It is better than nothing but lacking in a big way. Also if you read what vitamins are in there you will probably find two or three that are not in there. Not all "all in ones" contain all the vitamins and unless your nurse knows her onions she will not automatically know about vitamins, what you as an individual will need or the latest reseach about the optimal amounts.

I agree with shaws im afraid, ( sorry) Its great to take vitamins regardless, but a lot of multivitamins contain such a small amout of each vitamin element, therfore you could be wasting your money. I would find out first what your a deficient in. you may not need to take lots of vitamins and sometimes these vitamins can have a negative effect as some have iodene and other traces that are not suggested to take when a thyroid is out of sink.( so I have read)

Hi Shezz - if you need B12 injections then it's very likely you will be deficient in others, as B12 itself is essential to gut function let alone if you're HypoT with low metabolism. So you have trouble absorbing nutrients.

For example H&B vit D tabs didn't touch my 'inadequancy' but 4000iu drops do (on their own with milk), and multivits (even pregaday) don't have that potency.

I can understand 'tho - that you've made a big step to help yourself - I never thought I'd need 'extras' either (good diet etc) never had a deficiency, not even iron in pregnancy.

What you need to concentrate on is - irons ferritin & folate (you've got the B12 sorted - great!) and vitamin D - try these to start anyway, maybe other B vits to go with the B12, anything else is just complicated for now, you can read up on that later. J :D
