Hi I use Blue Horizon through the TUK site, bloods. Quote TUK 10 for cast of £61, intermediate test is tSH T4 Free T3. No easy , results + ranges to you. They use a well known lab which is important.Do not send blood at the end of the week because of our hopeless postal service.

My doctors also will not test for T3 and on the one occasion a doc did request the test, it was the lab that would not do it!

I recently had the tests done privately using one of the labs listed on the thyroid UK website and I'm so glad I did that, despite the expense

Best of luck with the test results - I have spent many years suffering because docs have told me I'm 'borderline' and therefore didn't offer treatment. I do think we have to take matters into our own hands - I'm new here and learning so much from the wonderful people who post here.

Hugs

Our lab won't test T3 either, my GP has requested it twice now, he writes it n the form in large letters. They also won't do T4 if the tsh is in range. My GP said that its nonsense! Good luck.

Hi there,

You have my deepest sympathies. I went to GP last week. On being called I found he has a student with him. I asked for a T3 test and he said certainly. On leaving practice room I discover he has ordered a thyroid function test (not T3). We had had a legthy discussion about T3 therapy during the visit and I know he was trying to impress the student. I feel sure he knew what I requested and just duped me to look good in front of the student!

Regards

Lin
